As a writer, I believe in the power of words.
When I’m sad, I wrap them around me like a blanket – finding comfort in the warmth of their wisdom. I find solace in reading line after line, until their strength moves within me – and pushes me past comfort and into action.
I am never more confident, strong, and dangerous than when I am armed with powerful words. Beware foes and fools – a writer who has recharged with words is not to be trifled with.
As we start this new year, I hope you arm yourselves with the best words and ideas in creating your next works. And when you need it, I hope you find the words to empower you.
On that note, here’s a little quote to help you along (because honestly, who doesn’t need it now and then?):
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” – Socrates (I think, but damn if it isn’t hard to find the accurate genesis of things sometimes)
It’s an appropriate quote for this time of year, as the beginning of each year tends to provoke us into reevaluating our life choices. 🙂 Regardless of your resolutions (or lack thereof), I hope you build something wonderful this year.
