A to Z Challenge
For the challenge, I’m focusing on the A to Z of reading and writing romance novels. This series of posts will contain Adult Content.
If you’ve read a handful of romance novels, chances are pretty good that you’ve come across at least one instance of a plot device/twist/staple in the romance genre – the baby.
And let me tell you, no matter what the heroine’s troubles are, it’s a pretty safe bet that a baby is always possible (especially in a series) in a romance novel. There’s even a whole branch of Harlequin that seems to specialize in the heroine getting pregnant with the hero’s baby at the end (or the beginning) of the novel.
B can also be for Bad Boys
Are you a bad boy? Are you a snarky smart-ass or a tattooed bad-ass? <Gasp> Even better, are you BOTH? Well then, my untamable man, you are also a staple on the romance scene.
But before you set foot in the land of romance, beware – there’s a really good chance that by the end of your ordeal you’ll be all mushy over some sweet, girl-next-door type and there’s an equal chance that a lot of the humor in the novel will be at your expense. But you’re a bad boy, so I’ve no doubt that you’ll handle it all with a smolder and some sexy stubble.
….double points to you, Mr. Bad Boy, if your heroine ends up with a baby by the end of the book. 🙂
